If you’re familiar with the anime, manga, or light novel, you know Maomao finds herself caught up in all sorts of mysteries. She uses her keen observational skills and medical knowledge to uncover the truth. Thankfully, the game seems to capture that same experience.
Exploration
According to Gust, the gameplay loop starts with exploration! In this part of the game, you’ll gather ingredients outside the city, and the medicine you make can serve as evidence or help Maomao’s friends.
Review Information
In the Review Information phase, you’ll go over the clues with Maomao and piece them together into theories. You’ll also conduct witness interviews and field investigations, and you’ll organize them in a notebook to connect the clues. You’ll use this evidence to help reveal the full picture of the case.
Present Theory
It’s your time to shine in this phase, using every technique you have to get to the truth. You can also piece together optional evidence to provide more context around a simple resolution! At the end of the case, you’ll have to choose between a lie to ease the situation and the harsh truth. The choice is yours!
