This week’s Famitsu chart of most anticipated games is heavy with Persona titles. Both Persona 4 Revival and Persona 6 clawed their way into the Top 5 for their PlayStation 5 versions, #3 and #4 respectively, while the Switch 2 versions are at #9 and #10.
Nearly half of the top 10 being taken up by Persona titles bodes well for their performance when they release next year. It remains to be seen if further adoption of the Switch 2 will lead to more hype building for those versions, though it could be that Atlus’s reliance on Game Key Cards has tempered the enthusiasm to an extent. Physical collectors make up a significant portion of the JRPG fanbase, after all.
Topping the chart is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, followed closely by Pokemon: Winds / Waves. The PS5 version of Final Fantasy VII Revelation is sitting comfortably at #5, while the Switch 2 version is down at #24.
