NIS America announced that their upcoming storybook-style game, The Grimm Reapress and the Drearytale Monster, will be coming to the West on May 13, 2027. The game will feature Japanese audio and English subtitles. It will release on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Steam.
Presented in the company’s trademark hand-drawn storybook style, The Grimm Reapress and the Drearytale Monster tells the story of Mono, a girl whose sister contracts a horrible magical disease called Paper Mortis, a malady that turns those afflicted into picture books. Mono will team up with Mar, a monster out for vengeance, in order to save her sister.
Gameplay involves diving into various storybooks that represent different characters afflicted with the disease. Players will fight bosses and solve puzzles to save Mono’s sister.
