Today on X (Twitter), Kotaro Uchikoshi, the developer behind games such as AI: The Somnium Files and the Zero Escape series, announced that the game he and his team had been working on in secret for the past year and a half was unexpectedly cancelled. This led to an announcement of his new studio, CRASH KEYS, which he describes as “a game studio specializing in video game design, direction, and narrative writing. (And… just between us, it’s also a secret organization dedicated to protecting world peace.)”
While originally intending to announce the formation of CRASH KEYS when the new game was revealed, he instead decided to make the announcement today, given the sudden cancellation of the project.
He requests anyone with work requests reach out to them at their site, crashkeys.com.

Here’s hoping the company is able to find investors and/or work in the near future. Kotaro Uchikoshi’s work pushes the boundaries between science and fiction in an incredibly creative way, and fans of his games are always looking forward to what he’ll come up with next.
