It’s been more than 10 years since the last mainline game in the Neptunia series, but Idea Factory’s flagship is back with Hyperspace Neptunia: Unlimited. The company announced today that the game will launch in 2027 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam.
Some old hats from the Neptunia series are returning to lend their talents for this new entry, including producer Hikaru Yasui and illustrator Tsunako.
The Neptunia games tell the story of the land of Gamindustri and its heroes, Goddesses inspired by major video game consoles. If you’re completely unfamiliar with Neptunia, this probably sounds pretty strange to you.
New gameplay mechanics like flight have been added to make exploration of more expansive dungeons possible. And combat can take place both on the ground and in mid-air, bringing with it new EXE Drive animations and an overhauled combo system. Players that love customizing their characters will find even more options that ever before, whether it be upgrading equipment to increase stats or simply changing your Goddesses’s colors.
