Edge of Memories Delayed a Month to December 3, Dodging November’s Heavy Hitters

Edge of Memories has been delayed from its original November release date to December 3. For those aware of the heavy hitting games arriving next month, namely Grand Theft Auto VI and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, this seems like a smart move. The team acknowledges in a statement that while many fans were already planning to buy Edge of Memories on day one, they know that huge releases can have a chilling effect on smaller games coming out around them.

“Word of mouth around launch can be critical to the success of the game,” the team said. They added, “The extra time will also give the team an opportunity to make a few additional quality-of-life improvements.” An updated demo will also be available in early November.

From the publisher: Edge of Memories is a 3rd-person action-RPG that offers players an epic adventure across the continent of Avaris, accessible to both longtime fans and newcomers alike. Their journey will take them through environments that are as magnificent as they are mysterious and dangerous. They will visit the lush plains of Argat, the dense and mystical forest of Kaishan, and the lands of the Sanctorium in the Kezal Mountains.

The new demo will allow players to experience the latest improvements to the game. Based on valuable feedback from the community, this trial version will feature combat that feels even more dynamic and intense. It will also include numerous improvements to gameplay and accessibility, offering an optimized experience for exploring the first few hours of the adventure.

Blending the richness of JRPGs with French animation style, the game’s mesmerizing universe comes to life through a carefully crafted art direction and an immersive, evolving soundtrack by Cédric Menendez (Edge of Eternity™), enhanced by the vocals of Emi Evans (NieR™ / NieR: Automata™) and Marion Schneider (Edge of Eternity™ / Temtem™).

The core of the game was designed in collaboration with renowned genre artists, including character designer Raita Kazama (Xenoblade Chronicles™ X) and writer Sawako Natori (NieR™), with the participation of composers Mariam Abounnasr (Xenoblade Chronicles™ 3 / ONINAKI™) and Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger® / Xenogears™) on the original soundtrack.
